 As the rain poured for the first time in 25 days, thousands of firefighters and family members came to Ashburton Park of the State House to witness the unveiling and dedication of the Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
The Committee broke ground on Monday, October 16. The Memorial will be located in Ashburton Park of the State House and the estimated date of completion is September, 2007.
Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial Gala The Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial Gala was held June 1st at Florian Hall. Emceed by Hank Morse of Greater Media Radio, more than 550 guests attended. After being welcomed by a 50+ pipes & drums band that included the Boston, Chelsea, Peabody and Worcester Pipes & Drums, the aCapella Quartet sang the National Anthem. During dinner The Flounders entertained the crowd. Other highlights included a silent and live auction, and a giant cake to resemble the Memorial. All guests were given a limited edition "GALA" license plate to remember the event. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening a success! All photos by Mike Otis Photography
